The Royal Soldier Chainmail from Epic Armoury is flexible chainmail made from flat riveted, linked steel rings.
Each conficated ring interlocks with four other rings in a "4-in-1 design", while the armpits are reinforced with riveted rings to withstand additional stress. The chain mail covers the body from shoulder to thigh and has short sleeves that protect the upper arm.

All edges but the bottom are leather bound, the chainmail opens at the front with six leather straps with brass buckles, making it much easier to slip into. This product requires additional maintenance. Be sure to read the maintenance sections for this product before you decide to purchase it.

This product is handmade and hand-painted, making it unique. As a result, this product may have natural variations in pattern, color and shape compared to similar item numbers, which are not considered defects or faults.

Cleaning

Moisture is the enemy of armor and chain mail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, wearing or after six months of storage, all metal parts should be wiped with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with a high-quality acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire surface of the exposed metal. Allow the wax to dry for a few hours and then polish lightly with a soft cloth.

Rust protection and removal

Store your armor in a dry place and check it every few months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected area with a lightly abrasive pad dipped in wax or high-quality acid-free vegetable oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated against rust, but should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.

Leather straps and fittings

Clean the dirt with a stiff brush and then gently rub in the leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather appears clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to remove any soap residue and then wipe the remaining water off the leather with a dry cloth. You should always condition leather after cleaning as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil or beeswax polish using a clean cloth, gently rub a small amount of oil or polish into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove any excess residue.

Please note: This product requires additional care of the stitching between the leather strap and chain mail, as the threading is subject to extreme wear and tear. The thread will break over time and will need to be repaired. We recommend that you only buy this product if you can repair the sewn-on leather straps with buckles yourself.
