Germanic show fighting spatha from the Migration Period.
Spathae have been known since Roman times and were later adapted and further developed by Germanic tribes.
These are slashing swords with broad, double-edged, straight blades that are wielded with one hand.
Reconstruction of a spatha, as they were common in the Germanic settlement area from the 1st to the 6th century.
The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and hardened to approx. 48 HRC.
It has a pronounced fuller, which gives the sword great elasticity and lightness at the same time.
The edge is unsharpened. The pommel and crossguard consist of brass plates riveted together,
which enclose a horn disk on the inside. The grip is made of wood, brass and horn.
The delivery includes a matching wooden scabbard.
The scabbard is covered with leather and has brass chape and mouth plates.
ATTENTION: there is no belt attachment!

- La poignée est confortable, l'ensemble est bien équilibré et le poids est assez léger. Attention en revanche à l'épaisseur de la lame qui se marquera rapidement face a des lames plus épaisses. Sinon plus que satisfait !
