Raven's beak brown

Wrecking hammer, also known as a war hammer. Crafted by our blacksmith. Total length approx. 59 cm. With solid wooden handle. Weight approx. 1000 grams.

War hammers, also known as quarrelling hammers, were used throughout Europe and the Middle East in the 15th and 16th centuries. They were used to wound an opponent despite their armor. This weapon is therefore not suitable for exhibition or free combat, as the raven's beak would penetrate the opponent's armor. Riding hammers had an approx. 50 cm long shaft to which a downward curved hook was attached opposite the hammer face. Foot combat hammers had much longer shafts.
