Replica of a Merovingian throwing axe with a hand-forged steel axe blade. Precursors of the Franziska were already in use in the late Roman army. There are countless finds from the Alemannic settlement areas, from the south of England and mainly in the Frankish kingdom of the Merovingians.
The cutting edge is slightly sharpened.
The axe blade is solidly forged. However, we cannot accept any liability for the shaft and are therefore selling the item as a decorative object!
We recommend mounting it on an ash wood shaft, which can be found in any DIY store.
