Kettenbrünne

A helmet brunt is a chain mesh which was attached to a helmet in the Middle Ages as additional neck and shoulder protection. Preferred helmet types here were the nasal helmet, but above all the late medieval pelvic cap and its variant, the hundsgugel.

This Ulfberth chain brim has an authentic, jagged, braided edge and a sewn-on strip of thick cowhide. The fastening holes for the helmet should be worked into this leather strip by the customer.
For fastening to helmets such as dog guards or bascinet helmets.

Made from untreated 1.6 mm thick spring steel rings.

Please note: To attach the chest to your helmet, you will need to punch holes in the leather (the easiest way to do this is with a hole punch). You will also need a leather strap (also available here in the Ritterladen). Please pay attention to the diameter of the strap when choosing the right one.
