This highly decorative reconstruction of a German knight's armor from the
late 15th century is elaborately handcrafted from solid sheet steel
. All parts are movable, so the armor can be worn.
In the Middle Ages, plate armor was normally always made to measure.
We offer here a standard size for a man of average stature and
a height of 1.75 cm to approx. 1.80 cm
Adjustable straps with buckles
are riveted to almost all relevant parts. (Admittedly, the buckles could be replaced by more authentic models
.)
A certain degree of size adjustment is therefore possible.
Nevertheless, we would like to point out that you should not expect 100% accuracy of fit with armor like this
.
The armor consists of the following components:
- helmet, a simple Schaller with hinged visor, leather inlet and chin strap
- two-piece, hinged neck mount
- two very elaborately chased shoulder pieces, each already completely connected with
upper and lower arm tubes
- two elbow tiles, which are attached between the upper and lower arm
tubes using leather straps
- a pair of very flexible, gothic gauntlets (item no. MB1016602300)
with suede inner glove.
- Armour, consisting of breastplate and backplate
- two complete leg pieces, with upper leg loops, knee pits, lower leg tubes
and armoured shoes (also known as sabatons, iron shoes or soleret)

Der erste Punkt geht nicht in die Bewertung ein.
Mit dem Ständer war es mir nicht möglich zufriedenstellend die Rüstung zu präsentieren. Das Armzeug besteht aus einzelnen Segmenten die mit Leder Riemen verbunden sind. Dadurch besteht keine Steifigkeit. Man kann also nicht die Arme auf einem Schwert abstützen oder ähnliches. Lediglich runterhängende arme sind möglich. Auch die Position wie auf dem Bild ist nicht möglich. Die Lösung war das ich mir flexible Schaufensterpuppen Arme gekauft habe die ich mit Paketklebeband an dem Ständer befestigt habe. Was erstaunlich gut geklappt hat. An diesem armen konnte man dann das Armzeug gestützt anbringen so das auch die Position mit dem Schwert möglich war.
Der Abzug an den Punkten kommt aber daher das die Halsberge für den Helm viel zu breit ist und wie auf dem Foto zu sehen besteht das Problem nicht nur bei meiner. Das sieht nicht gut aus. Man kauft sich eine komplette Rüstung damit alles zusammen passt dachte ich, aber das ist hier nur bedingt der Fall. Daher musste ich mir dann noch eine andere Halsberge kaufen damit es nach was aussieht. Im Nachhinein würde ich mir die Rüstung gleich aus einzelnen Teilen zusammen stellen.
- Die Rüstung ist ein toller Hinkucker und macht sich ganz gut im Wohnzimmer. Sie ist vom Preis her ebenfalls gut erschwinglich. Hatte mit den Ellenbogenkacheln etwas Schwierigkeiten beim Aufbau, dank der netten Hilfe des lieben Ritterladen-Teams hat aber alles sehr gut geklappt. Daumen hoch!
