The bearded axe enjoyed great popularity as both a tool and a weapon from the 6th century until the end of the Viking Age. Compared to the sword, it was not only simpler but also much cheaper to produce and was therefore the most important weapon for ordinary people in early medieval Scandinavia.
The high-quality Viking axe that we offer here was modeled on an archaeological find from the Swedish island of Gotland. The axe blade is hand-forged from carbon steel and mounted on a shaft made of painted wood.
It should be noted that the cutting edge is sharpened and fully functional. Therefore, this Gothic Viking axe is not suitable for show combat and is only intended as a collector's item or decorative object!
