Small Viking sax in Borrese style

This small utility knife from the Viking Age has a short, hand-forged blade made of carbon steel with a strong spine. The polished, impressive bone handle is decorated on both sides with beautiful Norse engravings in the Borrestyle (ca. 850-950 AD) and ends with a brass ferrule towards the blade. At the other end, the handle cap, also made of brass, has a practical steel eyelet with a brass ring for attaching a lanyard or for conveniently removing the knife from the scabbard (lanyard not included).

The Viking Age short sax comes with a sturdy, elaborately decorated scabbard made of vegetable-tanned leather with a hand-embossed wickerwork pattern. Reinforcing plates made of bone, brass rivets and two brass suspension rings in the shape of coiled snakes beautifully round off the look of the scabbard.

Although the knife is fully functional, the edge has been left blunt. If necessary, it would have to be sharpened for daily use. Please note, however, that this Viking knife is primarily intended as a collector's or decorative item. The tip of the blade is not rounded and is not suitable for show fighting!
