Chain mail - Haubergeon

Haubergeon means that it is a half-sleeved to short-sleeved chain mail shirt that reaches straight up to the thigh.

The type of chain mail FRM:
This is a European flat ring chain mail, which was produced and used from antiquity to the late Middle Ages in various variations and with different ring diameters.
It consists exclusively of flat chain rings. Alternating rings and punched rings are joined together in a 4-in-1 weave, which was and is less labour-intensive than a fully riveted weave, as only every second ring is riveted.
The riveting of the riveted rings is done with round rivets, which result in a round, hemispherical rivet head.
We abbreviate this authentic type of braiding to FRM (=Flatring Roundrivets Mixed.)
