The Viking hygiene set comes with three different pendants, which are based on Viking Age finds from Gotland, a replica of a staff chain and a chain distributor
The ear spoon, tweezers and awl pendants on this hygiene set were made from historical finds from the Swedish island of Gotland, which date back to the 9th to 10th century, while the chain distributor comes from the island of Öland.
In the Viking Age, it was common for women to carry one or more hygiene pendants attached to their bowl brooches at belt height, so that they were always at hand for use.
In addition to an ear spoon or nail cleaner, tweezers and an awl, a key or a needle box could also be attached in this way.
