The spike was the forerunner of the fork.

A find in this form comes from Gotland - a stray find from a grave from 233.

Length approx. 17.5 cm.
Finish - polished (lightly oiled)

Frederic Michel: pic a manger très élégant vraiment très beau, agréable en main, je l'est mesurer il faisait 18 cms et non 16 cms comme écrit et conforme aux photos.
Très heureux de mon achat reste a faire un petit étui de cuir pour le ranger et le transporter ...
excellent achat recommander aux carnassiers et grand "boustifailleur" !

Felix: Ich habe mehrere Essdorne für meine Gruppe bestellt und wir sind eigentlich recht zufrieden. Zwar ist der Dorn blank poliert und nicht so schwarz geschmiedet wie auf dem Foto, jedoch stört das nicht sonderlich.
Kleiner Tipp: den Griff mit Leder umwickeln. Dann hat man einen besseren Halt und es wertet das Stück noch etwas auf

Frank: Leider habe ich einen silberglänzenden Edelstahldorn erhalten. Auf dem Foto wirkt das Material aber schmiedeeisern, was mir viel lieber gewesen wäre. Nun ja, seinen Zweck erfüllt er - aber authentisch fühlt sich das nicht an. Enttäuschend.
