Axes were important tools and weapons in the everyday life of the Vikings. They were used for felling trees, chopping wood or fighting.
The axe heads were made from various materials such as stone, bone or metal and had different shapes and sizes depending on their intended use.
Many Viking axes were elaborately decorated and served not only as practical tools, but also as status symbols.

Nowadays, Viking axes are popular with collectors and are often used in films, TV series and video games to convey the image of the wild and fearless Vikings.

The head shape of the Viking axe offered here corresponds to the Petersen type C. The blade of this bearded axe is made of EN45 carbon steel and is engraved with a Nordic-style motif.
The axe handle is made of robust ash wood and is wrapped in leather.

We would like to point out that this early medieval axe is not suitable for show combat, but is primarily designed as a collector's item or decorative object!
It is also ideal as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume, and will make your transformation into a proud warrior simply perfect.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend regular maintenance of the axe blade, e.g. with Ballistol, a universal oil that is ideal for the
preservation of steel goods.
