Long gambeson with detachable sleeves brown-nature

A gambeson is indispensable for free and show combat. In the Middle Ages, the gambeson was worn under chain or plate armor and increased the comfort of the knight's armor. It could also cushion enemy blows and thus reduce the risk of injury.

The Ulfberth gambeson is made of three layers of fabric: an outer layer of cotton fabric (canvas), a padding layer made of polyester and a cotton lining. The quilting on the upper body is diamond-shaped.

The quilting is horizontal at the waist and vertical at the hips and arms. The gambeson is fastened with leather straps and metal buckles at the center front. The sewn-on leather details reinforce particularly stressed areas.

The sleeves are fastened with nesting straps and can be removed as desired. The high collar increases the comfort of wearing pieces of armour or chain mail around the neck.
