Delicate Viking Age brooch modeled after an original find of a disc brooch with the Midgard Serpent as decoration. For light garments such as scarves and shawls or simply as a piece of jewelry.

In Germanic mythology, the Midgard Serpent, also known as Jörmungand or the World Girdle, is one of the three enemies of the world, just like Hel and the Fenris wolf. It rests in the depths of the sea. Her body is so huge that it wraps itself around the entire mainland and she carries the end of her own tail in her throat. When it awakens and the sea is whipped up, great floods come to haunt people. The snake biting its own tail is an indispensable symbol of the unity and return of all things. On a spiritual level, it points to deep-seated, hidden forces whose potential bursts forth in due course and can sometimes be directed and utilized. The Midgard Serpent is slain by Thor with his hammer at the third encounter.
