Saturn ring amethyst

Beautiful equatorial sundial inspired by Hypatia of Alexandria, who distinguished herself at the end of the 4th century through her knowledge of astronomy, mathematics and philosophy.

To determine the time, it is necessary to orient the sundial to the south. It is then tilted until a ray of sunlight falls through the crystal ball onto the dial.
The time shown corresponds to solar time, to which the hours that differ from the official time must be added or subtracted.
