The so-called "Saturn" is a very effective sundial.

It measures the time by the position of the sun as it moves from east (morning) to west (evening). The sunlight is bundled into a beam of light in the round stone in the center of the Saturn, which then displays the WOZ (true local time) on the dial.

On the back is a sun and the motto Sol Lucet Omnibus (The sun shines for all).

The easiest way to read the time with Saturn is to first position yourself so that you are facing directly into the sun. Then hold Saturn horizontally in front of you. In this position, turn Saturn until the "S" (for south) engraved in the wreath points exactly to the south.
The more precisely you align Saturn here, the more accurate the time displayed will be. Now hold Saturn by the sides and start from the horizontal position and tilt the edge of Saturn upwards until a bundled beam of light appears on the side of the stone facing away from the sun. This then displays the WOZ (true local time) on the dial in the wreath!
