The Templar cross was only worn by the elite of the Knights Templar. The ends of the cross represent the combination of spiritual power and the courage of the knights. The five basic ideals of the Freemasons are liberty, equality, fraternity, tolerance and humanity. Their basic symbols are compasses and angles.
