This beautiful temple ring was based on a historical model, as it was worn by the Slavs in the early Middle Ages up to the 12th century.
However, temple rings were not only a typical part of the garments of the Slavic peoples, but were also widespread among the Alemanni and Franks, so that temple rings are also repeatedly found in South German finds from the early Middle Ages.
The temple ring got its name from the fact that it was typically worn in pairs or even in multiples along the temple. It was either woven directly into the hair or into a headband/leather band or cloth.
