In Norse mythology, the ravens Hugin and Munin are the companions of Odin, who is also known as the "raven god". Hugin means "thought", Munin means "memory". At dawn, Odin sends the ravens out into the world as scouts. They return for breakfast and bring Odin all the news they have seen. The amulet stands for close ties, loyalty and wisdom.
