This piece of jewelry combines beauty and sophistication at the same time. A bordeaux-colored garnet is set on the front: The garnet (medieval "Karfunkel") is described in folklore as a stone that leads to hidden cities, which can be interpreted as a reference to the hidden sundial. It is also said to make the wearer invulnerable. The peasant ring necklace also features Celtic ornamentation in the form of an isosceles cross: The four sides symbolize the four seasons, the four cardinal points and the four elements fire (south), air (east), water (west) and earth (north).
The back of the peasant ring necklace works like a peasant ring and serves as a sundial. The corresponding months are summarized with "S" for "summer", "F" for "spring", "H" for "autumn" and "W" for "winter". How it works: Set the hole of the inner sliding ring to the respective season. Point the clock hanging towards the sun until you see a dot of light on the time scale. Now align the dot with the corresponding scale (morning or afternoon) and read off the time.
Material: 925 sterling silver, garnet stone
Dimensions: Height (with eyelet) approx. 3.2 cm, width approx. 2.5 cm
The peasant ring necklace is supplied with a black ribbon.
