The Claddagh originates from Ireland and is worn as a friendship, engagement or wedding ring. It shows two hands holding a heart with a crown. The heart symbolizes love, the hands friendship and trust, the crown fidelity. Worn on the right hand with the heart pointing away from the wearer, it signals the search for a partner. If the heart points towards the wearer, it indicates an existing love connection. Worn on the left hand with the heart pointing towards the wearer, it is a wedding ring.
