Key fob with snake brooch black

This beautifully designed key ring made of solid cowhide is studded with a replica of the so-called Pitney brooch, an Anglo-Saxon brooch of the Viking Age in the so-called Urnes style.

The Pitney brooch depicts two fighting snakes in the Urnes style, which was very common in the late Viking Age. This depiction symbolizes the struggle between the forces, i.e. the perpetual struggle between good and evil in the course of the world, which was a frequent theme in the Viking Age. The depiction of the snake on the pitney brooch clearly originates from Viking art, whereas the shell rim and the beaded lines are Anglo-Saxon characteristics.
