Medieval Aglet lace for a Medieval Aglet ribbon, with a straight head based on a late medieval model.
From around 1200 - 1600, the nestle ribbon was part of the garment, which was fastened with laces. The Medieval Aglet lace was usually simply sewn onto the Medieval Aglet band or attached with a small piece of wire. To close the garment, hemmed holes or eyelets were made in the fabric, and the nesting ribbon was pulled through and knotted.
