Schapel

The schapel is a hoop that women have worn as a headdress since the 12th century. It is often used to hold a scarf on the head. However, it can also be worn as a kind of headband.

The scapel is made of brass and can therefore be adjusted to the shape of the head. It is adjusted with a lacing that is tied at the back of the head. It is lined with velvet, making it very comfortable to wear.
