This calf-length tunic for children is made from sturdy cotton fabric. It has a straight cut and slits down the sides to the waist. The front and back also have a central, slightly shorter slit.
The tunic appeared in the 12th century and was worn by knights over their armor or chain mail. First and foremost, it protected the wearer from the sun's rays on the battlefield, and the different color combinations made it clear who was enemy and who was friend in the turmoil of battle.
The simple, straight cut is typical of the tunic. For an authentic look, we recommend combining it with a leather belt.
