Medieval tabard Teutonic Knights XL-XXL

This calf-length tabard is made from sturdy cotton fabric. It has a straight cut and slits down the sides to the waist. The front and back also have a slightly shorter slit in the middle. The classic cross of the Teutonic Knights is appliquéd on the chest.

The tabard first appeared in the 12th century and was worn by knights over their armour or chain armour. First and foremost, it protected the wearer from the sun's rays on the battlefield, and the different color combinations made it clear who was enemy and who was friend in the turmoil of battle. Tunics were worn by many crusaders to identify themselves as crusaders.

The simple, straight cut is typical of the tunic. For an authentic look, we recommend combining it with a leather belt.
