These are slit, two-tone trousers in the style of the Landsknechte. The origin of this fashion is largely unclear, but it is assumed that Landsknechts in the late 15th century slashed their tight clothing because it hindered them in battle. This gave rise to the typical fashion for which the legendary mercenaries became known.
The trousers are elaborately designed and made of robust, high-quality cotton. Thanks to their generous cut, they allow plenty of freedom of movement in battle. The waistband is fastened with two antique brass-look buttons. Cotton lacing provides the typical, puffy legs of Landsknecht fashion.
This leg dress can be used not only to portray these famous Landsknechts, but also for courtly roles or as a merchant or pirate.
