The Alkuin doublet is made from warming sheep's wool felt and has a cotton lining. On the one hand, this robust, dense fabric appears to be historically authentic, as historical doublets were originally made of thick material to provide comfort under the knight's armor. On the other hand, the heavy fabric also protects against the cold and weather, making this garment particularly suitable for the transitional period.
