Dark brown medieval shoes with leather sole "London"

The thick soles of the dark brown medieval shoes were made using a nailing-through process. This makes the sole robust and ensures a long service life.
The shoe is well suited for depicting the High Middle Ages and Late Middle Ages.

Many museums have exhibited finds of medieval shoes. Similar shoes were also found in earlier times.
This type of shoe can also be found in the work "Shoes and Patterns" by Francis Grew and Margarethe de Neergaard and has been dated to the period from 1100 to 1450.
