Low shoes with laces were popular in the High and Late Middle Ages. The shoes were only ankle-high and were usually pointed at the front.
As everyday or work shoes, they were usually plain and simple, yet robustly made to last for a long time.
The medieval low shoes with laces on offer are made from robust cowhide, have a leather insole and a thick outsole with nails on the outside.
There is lacing on the front vamp with 2 holes on each side to adjust the medieval shoes to your own foot.
The lacing should be tightened at the beginning so that it lies flat inside the shoe.
Upper: leather approx. 2 mm
Insole: leather
Outsole: leather approx. 5 mm
Shoe size: As a rule, the shoes are "normal", so you should choose the usual size (as in street shoes)! However, this information is only a recommendation, as various factors such as insoles,
thick socks, a wide foot, etc. can play a role. If you have a wide foot (or high instep), we recommend choosing one size larger.
NOTE: Please always try shoes on carpeted floors! This will avoid signs of wear on the soles. It is normal for leather shoes to feel a little tight at first. However, leather softens over time
and adapts to the foot accordingly.
