Cook like the Celts!
Go on an enjoyable journey through 1000 years of Celtic culinary history that takes you right across Europe: The cultural settlement area of the mainland Celts stretched from the Mediterranean coast across the Alps to just before the North Sea, from the Pyrenees to Poland. Today, traces of their food culture can still be found in the traditional dishes of these regions.
As part of his project "Deprosagilos" (Celtic for "little feast seeker"), the author set out in search of authentic, verifiable Celtic cuisine. More than 250 sites were evaluated, archaeobotanical traces were examined for edible plants and bone finds were assigned to possible preparation methods. As a herbalist, he also succeeded in transforming edible wild plants and fruits into tasty dishes.
This cookbook invites you to try your hand at cooking: experience the traditional, regional, seasonal and unique cuisine of the Celts.
