It is the festival of fertility of the sacred union of heaven and earth. The incense is said to have a slightly aphrodisiac effect. It intensifies the magic of this night and tears open the veils to the other world.

The Celts are known to have eight major festivals.
4 sun and 4 moon festivals.
The sun festivals were the equinox and the shortest day or the longest day. The lunar festivals were always in the middle of the solar festivals. Their festivals were intense and full of joie de vivre, but also characterized by deep respect for the changing conditions of nature.
It nourishes our soul and strengthens our connection to nature and the cosmos if we are able to tune in to these natural processes again.
